Creative Snacks for Kids' Birthday Parties

Planning parties can be stressful, especially for kids’ birthday parties.

Determining which snacks all kids will love (even the picky-eaters) can be difficult.

That’s why we comprised a list of creative snack ideas that will be a hit at any kid’s birthday party!

 

Tacos in a Bag

Derived from Mexico City’s Dorilocos, Tacos in a Bag is an easy kid-friendly snack that will make snack time fun during any kids birthday party!

 

Ingredients:

1 lb lean ground beef or turkey

1 package of taco seasoning mix

4 packages of Doritos

2 cups shredded lettuce

1 cup shredded 4 cheese Mexican blend

⅓ cup of salsa

½ cup sour cream

 

 How To Make It:

 

  1. Place ground beef or turkey in a large skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until browned. Drain excess oil and add entire taco seasoning packet.
  2. Slit open the bags on the long side edge. Spoon on top meat, lettuce, cheese, salsa, and sour cream.
  3. Serve in the bag with a fork and enjoy!

 

 

Monster Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

16 Rice Krispie Treats

16 lollipop sticks

2 cups candy melts (with different colors)

Candy eyes

 

How To Make It:

  1. Unwrap all the Rice Krispie Treats
  2. Add the lollipop sticks to the bottom of the treats
  3. Melt candy melts according to the package
  4. Dip the top half of each of the treats into the melted candy and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper
  5. Place candy eyes onto the treats to your desired design
  6. Allow to harden for 20 minutes and enjoy!

 

 

Clam Shell Cookies

Ingredients:

Nilla wafers

Food dye (desired colors)

½ cup butter

2 cups of sugar

2-3 tbsp cream

Large pearl sprinkles

 

How To Make It:

  1. Combine butter, sugar, and cream to frosting consistency
  2. Separate into four bowls and add desired food dye into each for several colors
  3. Scoop frosting into piping bags
  4. Pipe frosting onto Nilla wafers and top each with another Nilla wafer
  5. Place pearl sprinkles onto each cookie and enjoy!

 

 

Birthday Cake Popcorn

Ingredients:

Several Bags of Skinny Pop popcorn

1 cup Mini M&Ms

½ cup nonpareils

2 cups white chocolate

3 tbsp of yellow cake mix

 

How To Make It:

 

  1. Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave
  2. Stir in yellow cake mix into melted chocolate until smooth
  3. Pour popcorn into a large mixing bowl
  4. Pour chocolate and cake mix mixture onto popcorn and toss evenly to coat
  5. Spread chocolate covered popcorn onto parchment lined tray and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes
  6. Once cool sprinkle with nonpareils and M&Ms
  7. Serve in paper cups and enjoy!

 

Oven Baked Potato Chip Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

2 cups Lay’s Potato Chips (crushed)

4 boneless and skinless chicken breasts (sliced)

1 cup flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

4 eggs beaten

 

How To Make It:

 

  1. Preheat oven 425°F
  2. In a bowl combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir to combine and transfer into a large Ziploc bag
  3. In a separate large Ziploc bag crush the potato chips
  4. Place sliced chicken in flour mixture and shake bag until each of the chicken slices are evenly coated
  5. Once fully coated, one at a time coat chicken with beaten eggs in a bowl
  6. As you coat, each chicken slice with the eggs place into crushed potato chip bag and shake until evenly coated
  7. Place potato chip coated chicken onto a baking sheet lined with parchment
  8. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown and enjoy!
