We all just love chips, right? We think that’s probably the most famous snack all around the world. It’s very easily available and at the same time very inexpensive.
Perfect for movie nights, parties, and for every occasion that can come across your mind, really.
The options when it comes to chips are endless. Whatever flavor you like – there is an option for you. For those with a little extra time on their hands making chips at home is actually fairly easy!
So, we made a list of chip recipes to make your perfect choice of chips.
From these 10 different chips recipes, it’ll be near impossible not to find your favorite.
1. Sweet Potato Chips

This one is definitely one of our favorites – crispy and very flavorful!
Ingredients:
10 ounces of Sweet Potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
¼ tbsp salt
Steps:
- Preheat oven at about 250 F degrees.
- If you don’t have a mandoline, you can slice your sweet potatoes with a knife, just keep in mind that they have to be thin.
- Add a little bit of olive oil (2 tbsp) and salt (1/4 tbsp) before you put them in the oven.
- Be sure to flip them once in a while during the process of baking, so they are equally crispy on both sides.
- When they get that golden color, remove them from oven and enjoy your chips.
These chips are very simple to make, and the end result is worth the effort. Once you try this recipe, it won’t be long till the whole bowl is empty!
Plus, you can add a little bit of cheese or salsa, or you can even add them to your sandwich or burger– whatever you decide.
2. Kale Chips

There are so many different options when it comes to this recipe, so you can modify it to your own needs and taste. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that they need to be baked at a low temperature if you want crispy, flavorful chips. That means also, that they will be baking for a longer time.
Ingredients:
1 head of kale (dry them very well after rinsing)
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
Steps
- Preheat your oven to about 225 F.
- Remove ribs from kale and chop kale leaves into pieces.
Be sure to use baking sheets, that’s how your kale will be crispy.
- Toss in a bowl with olive oil until evenly coated.
- After about 15 minutes of baking, toss them around a little bit to be sure that they are evenly baked.
- When they get a golden-browned color, you can remove them from your oven.
- Let them cool a little bit, and allow to crisp up after the oven and that’s it.
You can now enjoy your homemade kale chips and it’s best while it’s still fresh – but on the other hand, it’s so delicious that’s impossible that you have leftovers.
You can also add a dip made of lemon and yogurt – the perfect combination.
3. Apple Chips

When it comes to apples, we love them in all the ways they are prepared, but this apple chip recipe is probably the yummiest chips we have ever tried. The best trick when it comes to baking apple chips is that they need to bake for a longer period of time at a lower temperature. That way you’ll have dehydrated, crispy and perfect apple chips.
Ingredients
4 apples
¼ cup of sugar
3 tsp of cinnamon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 225 F degrees.
- Slice apples thinly using a mandoline or knife.
- Bake for 45 minutes, after their edges start to curl, your chips are ready.
- You can also toss the apples around a little bit while baking to be sure that they are evenly crisped.
- In a bowl combine sugar and cinnamon and transfer into a bag.
- Toss apple chips in cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
Keep in mind that they have to cool down, after that you will have your perfect and crispy apple chips. Enjoy! You’ll see that the flavor is worth your time and effort.
4. Banana Chips

So, we all know bananas are very healthy – rich in fibers, vitamin C, and potassium. We all love to eat them fresh, but if you’re craving bananas – no worries because here is a great recipe for banana chips. When it comes to chips – you always need to keep in mind that the thinner slices you make – the crispier the chip will be.
Ingredients
4 bananas
2 lemons
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200F. Peel and slice the bananas into 1/16th to 1/8th inch slices. We recommend using a mandoline slicer.
- Dip or brush the banana slices with lemon juice placing them close together on parchment lined baking sheets.
- Bake in the oven for 1 -1½ hours. They should be able to be peeled off parchment easily, flip banana chips over and continue baking approximately 1 -1½ hours longer until desired dryness is achieved.
- Check banana chips occasionally to make sure they are not overcooking. They will crisp up as they cool and become firm and leathery, yet remain flexible. Allow them to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in a cool dark place. For long term storage refrigerate or freeze.

5. Carrot Chips

The taste of carrot chips can be very similar to sweet potato, because of that salty-sweet taste and at the same time are very low in calories and sugar. You can play around with the recipe, but we found that making them this way makes them perfectly crunchy and delicious.
Ingredients
4 carrots
¼ tbsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
Steps
- Preheat your oven (350F).
- You can use your vegetable peeler to slice your carrots in very thin strips – that way they will be thinner and also crunchier after.
- Toss them into a bowl, or a plastic bag, then add salt and olive oil.
- Arrange your carrots on a baking sheet, but keep in mind they shouldn’t overlap.
- After arranging, add one more baking sheet on top of your carrots and bake for six minutes. Check them and bake more if you are not satisfied with the crunchiness.
- Wait until they cool down and they are ready to be served.
Simple as that. Now you can enjoy your yummy end result.
6. Healthy Potato Chips

Well, maybe you are one of those who doesn’t really like to experiment with your chips. No carrot, apple or any other ingredient can change the basic potato chips? You can makeover your potato in the healthier version and it’s very easy to make.
Ingredients
2 medium Yukon Gold or Idaho potatoes
3 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Slice the potatoes using a mandoline or knife.
- Transfer into a bowl and immediately toss them with the oil.
- Season lightly with salt and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake in the oven until golden brown — about 12-15 minutes.
- Season again lightly with salt and pepper when they come out of the oven.
- Transfer to a rack to cool for maximum crispness.

Ingredients
3 beets
3 tbsp olive oil
2 sprigs of rosemary
Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- Preheat your oven (375 F).
- Rinse beets.
- If you don’t have a mandoline, no problem, you just need a knife to slice your beets into thin slices. As always, the thinner they are - the better the end results will be.
- Mix beets with olive oil, salt and pepper, and chopped rosemary.
- Toss the mixture a little bit so the beets are evenly coated.
- Arrange your slices on a baking sheet and put in the oven for about 15 minutes.
- Check them, if they are crispy enough and have that slightly-brown color then they are ready to go.
- Let them cool, then serve.

8. Yucca Chips

2 large yuccas
3 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- Slice yuccas into thin pieces using a mandoline or knife.
- In a large bowl, toss yucca and olive oil.
- Season chips with salt and pepper.
- Coat a baking sheet with nonstick spray, then lay yucca slices flat on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 4 to 6 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

9. Avocado Chips

1 avocado
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ tbsp garlic powder
3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 325 F degrees.
- Mash your avocado until it’s smooth.
- Add lemon juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parmesan into a bowl and mix it all together with the mashed avocado.
- Place a tbsp each of the prepared mix on a baking sheet and flatten each scoop.
- Bake it for about 15 minutes and check if it’s crispy enough for you.
- Let them cool and enjoy!
